I would like to thank Chairman Park for his generosity and kindness. His mission to introduce Korean adoptees to their motherland culture is an impressive one. I am impressed by his dedication to helping adoptees explore their roots. I would also like to thank Andy Park for being our leader on tour and encouraging us to try new things (even if some of us these things were “fishy.”) A big thanks to Robyn: her experience as a fellow adoptee and Journey alumna/coordinator was invaluable and to Jason for his planning and coordination efforts.

Before coming to Korea, my identity as a Korean-American adoptee was not well formed. I had acculturated to the American way of life, but it always felt like something did not quite fit. Coming to Korea for the first time was like being welcomed into a tight-knit community. We mostly have our wonderful host families to thank for welcoming us into their homes. One of my most memorable moments on the trip was an evening spent with our host parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee: our “oma” is a foster mother for Korean adoptees. She introduced us to her friend, also a foster mother who was currently fostering a beautiful and strong baby boy. I was heartened by the level of care and attachment the foster moms have for their foster children. Our host “oma,” Mrs. Lee told us (Nikki and me) that meeting us made her feel happy that Korean adoptees were raised by loving families to become successful adults.

While the Journey trip is centered on the common theme of adoption, the tour ended up being more of an adventure in Korea with a wonderful group of like-minded people. The tour was consisted of very full days. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor activities like visiting the Korean folk village, hiking Ulsan Bawi and exploring the coastal areas in Jeju-do. Our group grew closer during the rural tour where we had more free time in the evening together.

For future Journey trips, I would keep the homestay length at five days. Having a home to return to after a long day touring the city was grounding. If there is time, I think it might also be a good experience to visit the KoRoot hostel. I stayed there my first two nights in Seoul. Pastor Kim and his wife were very kind and helpful in orienting newcomers to the city. I also had the opportunity to meet other international adoptees at KoRoot. We were able to have interesting conversations on why we came to Korea, birth family searches and our lives in our respective home countries. This could be a valuable experience for the adult adoptees.

저는 박경진 회장님이 베풀어 주신 관대함과 친절에 감사드리고 싶습니다. 한국인 입양인들에게 그들의 모국의 문화를 소개하는 박경진 회장님의 사명에 깊은 인상을 받았습니다. 입양인들이 그들의 뿌리를 찾도록 돕는 박경진 회장님의 헌신에 저는 감동받았습니다. 저는 또한 이번 여행에서 리더가 되어주고 저희가 새로운 것을(비록 몇몇 입양인들에게는 “수상한” 것들이지만) 경험하도록 격려해준 박형호 사장님께도 감사드리고 싶습니다. 로빈과 박관수 과장에게도 대단히 감사하다는 말씀을 드리고 싶습니다. 동료 입양인이며 Journey 졸업자이자 진행자였던 로빈의 경험은 저에게 매우 귀한 것이었습니다. Journey를 준비하고 진행했던 박 과장의 노력에 감사드립니다.

한국에 오기 전에는 한국계 미국인 입양인으로서의 저의 정체성이 제대로 형성되지 않았습니다. 저는 미국인의 삶의 방식에 적응되었습니다. 그러나 저는 항상 무엇인가 잘 맞지 않는 다는 것을 느끼곤 했습니다. 한국 방문의 첫 인상은 마치 잘 짜여진 조직에 들어온 느낌을 받았습니다. 저희는 훌륭한 홈스테이 가정과 함께 할 수 있었습니다. 저희를 환대해준 홈스테이 가정들에게 감사드립니다. 이번 여행에서 저에게 가장 기억에 남는 것 중 하나는 저녁시간을 홈스테이 부모들과 함께 보낸 것입니다. 저희 “엄마” 허기자 권사님은 입양아들을 돌보는 위탁모입니다. 허 권사님은 니키와 저에게 그분의 친구를 소개시켜 주셨는데, 그분은 예쁘고 튼튼한 한 남자 아이를 맡아 기르고 계신 위탁모였습니다. 저는 위탁받은 아동을 대하는 위탁모들의 사랑과 정성에 감동받았습니다. 우리 “엄마” 허기자 권사님은 따뜻한 가정에서 잘 자라 훌륭한 어른으로 성장한 입양아들을 만난 것이 너무 행복하다고 니키와 저에게 말씀해 주셨습니다.

Journey의 일정이 입양에 대한 주제에 초점이 맞춰져 있었지만 그래도 마음이 맞는 좋은 사람들과 한국의 낯선 것들을 경험해보는 흥미진진한 일들로 가득 차 있었습니다. 여행은 꽉 짜여진 일정으로 진행되었습니다. 저는 특별히 한국민속촌을 방문하고, 울산 바위를 등반하고, 제주도의 해안가를 거닐었던 것 같은 야외활동을 하는 것이 좋았습니다. 저희들은 지방에서 밤 시간을 함께 보내면서 가깝게 지내게 되었습니다.

앞으로 있을 Journey를 위해 제안을 하자면, 저는 홈스테이 기간을 5일로 유지해야 한다고 생각합니다. 도시에서 여행으로 긴 하루를 보내고 돌아갈 집이 있다는 것에 마음이 든든했습니다. 만약 시간이 있다면 한국 뿌리의 집을 방문하는 것도 좋은 경험이 될 것이라고 생각합니다. 저는 한국 뿌리의 집에서 서울에서의 첫 두 밤을 보냈습니다. 김 목사님 부부는 서울을 처음 방문하는 사람들을 안내하는데 매우 친절했으며 많은 도움을 주셨습니다. 저는 또한 한국 뿌리의 집에서 다른 나라에서 온 입양인들을 만날 수 있는 기회를 가졌습니다. 저는 그들과 한국에 온 이유, 출생 가족 찾기, 각자 두고 온 본국에서의 삶에 대해 흥미 있는 대화를 할 수 있었습니다. 이러한 경험은 성인 입양인들에게는 가치 있는 경험이 될 것이라고 생각합니다.

Journey 2010을 위해 애써 주신 모든 분들에게 다시 한번 감사드립니다.

Journey 2010 was one of the most profound and memorable experiences in my life. I believe “Journey” is an apt name for this trip, as it is an expedition into realizing a better understanding of who we are as people and who we are as Koreans. I am so grateful and appreciative for the amazing opportunity to reconnect with my Korean heritage. The JinHueng MoonHwa Company’s generosity and hospitality were so overwhelming. Words cannot genuinely express how much I appreciated and enjoyed the trip. For most of my life, I had only a fleeting interest in my Korean heritage, culture and history. However, as I grew older and became more self-reflective, I became increasingly interested about where I came from, as it was such an integral part of my identity that I ignored for so long. The ability to participate in Journey 2010 provided me the opportunity to fulfill that desire.

The ability to see and experience the country as a young adult restored a pride that lied dormant for so many years. I have a newfound respect and admiration for South Korea. The city of Seoul is an impressive place with a rich history still preserved amongst very modern, urban surroundings. I was equally impressed by the beauty of the rest of the country, particularly Jeju Island. I had a wonderful time experiencing a different part of Korean culture; one I probably would not have had the opportunity if I had not participated in Journey 2010.

One of the most rewarding experiences of the trip was the time spent with the homestay family. My homestay family, the Shin family, was so unbelievably loving and caring. I was touched by the way they opened not only their home, but their family to Josh and I, and made extraordinary efforts to make us feel at home. There were so many places in South Korea where I felt very out of place, but when I was with the Shin family in their home, I felt like an extended member of their family. I cannot thank them enough for being so generous with their time, and their home. I will be eternally grateful to them, and inspired me to try and be a better person. I was also touched by the outpouring of support and hospitality of all of the homestay families. It is so refreshing to see such generosity in what sometimes appears to be a world of increasing cynicism and intolerance. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the various cultural sights and landmarks in Seoul and throughout the country. As people would say, Journey 2010 was designed to give us a taste of Korea. It certainly gave me a taste, but also a healthy appetite to learn and explore more of the country. I know for a fact that I will be back to Korea, hopefully many more times. I hope to share my experience with my own family someday. I was moved by Chairman Park’s comments at the closing ceremony, about his motivations about starting and continuing these Journey trips. It is my hope that the JinHueng MoonHwa Company continues this great tradition, and give others the opportunity to participate in this life-changing experience.

When people back in the United States ask me about the trip, I constantly remark about the overwhelming support and kindness the people involved in Journey 2010 extended. Most of my remarks revolve around my experiences with the people of Korea and less about the places we visited. While I only knew the people involved in Journey 2010 for only two weeks, I feel like I made life-long friends. To be able to share this journey with people with similar backgrounds, only enhanced my experience.

I will always fondly remember my time with Journey 2010. I hope that one day I can repay the debt of gratitude I have for the company and everyone involved in the trip. Thank you again for such a memorable experience.

Journey 2010은 저의 삶 가운데 가장 깊고 인상적인 경험이었습니다. 저는 이번 여행이 사람으로서 내가 누구인지, 한국인으로서 내가 누구인지에 대해 더 나은 이해를 위한 탐험이기 때문에 “Journey”라는 명칭이 알맞은 표현이라고 생각합니다. 한국의 유산을 다시 접할 수 있는 놀라운 기회를 가질 수 있게 되어 대단히 감사드립니다. 진흥문화사가 베푼 관대함과 호의는 저를 압도했습니다. 말로는 제가 얼마나 감사하는지, 얼마나 좋은 여행이었는지 제대로 표현할 수 없습니다. 제 삶의 대부분 동안, 한국의 문화와 역사에 대한 저의 관심은 순간적이었습니다. 그러나 제가 성장하면서 보다 자기 반성적이 됨에 따라, 제가 오랫동안 무시했었던 저의 정체성의 필수적인 사항인 출생에 대한 관심이 점점 증가하게 되었습니다. 저는 Journey 2010에 참여하여 저의 이러한 관심을 충족시킬 수 있었습니다.

저는 박경진 회장님이 15주년감사예배 기념사에서 말씀하신 해외입양인초청 모국방문 행사의 취지와 계속하시는 동기를 듣고 감동받았습니다. 진흥문화사가 위대한 전통을 계속 이어가서 다른 입양인들에게도 삶을 변화시키는 행사에 참여할 수 있는 기회를 주셨으면 하는 것이 저의 소망입니다.

미국에 있는 저의 친구들이 이번 여행에 대해 물으면 저는 Journey 2010 관계자들의 압도적인 후원과 친절함에 대해 끊임없이 말했습니다. 제가 친구들에게 말한 대부분의 내용은 한국에서 방문했던 장소보다는 제가 경험했던 한국 사람들에 대한 이야기가 주된 내용입니다. 비록 제가 아는 사람들이 단지 2주 동안 만났던 Journey 2010 관계자들 뿐 이지만 저는 마치 평생지기 친구들을 만든 것 같았습니다. 저와 비슷한 배경을 가진 사람들과 이번 행사에 대한 경험을 나누기 위해 필요한 것은 단지 저의 경험을 향상시키는 것입니다.

To our friends at JinHueng MoonHwa,

Our 2010 Journey is now a few weeks behind us and time has come to share our thoughts and feelings on this adventure. To better understand the expectations of this essay, we looked over submissions from the 2009 and 2008 Journey participants. Generally, these were enthusiastically positive responses from those who had travelled before us and enjoyed the generosity and hospitality of Chairman Park, Andy Park and all the staff and volunteers from JinHueng MoonHwa. Everything they said closely mirrored our own feelings and observations ? Korea is a beautiful country with fabulous people. This experience has been such a gift.

Speaking as parents, we enjoyed all of the activities in the program. Some more than others, but they all contributed to a deeper understanding of the country and it’s culture. And everything was fun ? we were never bored. Most importantly, the trip and daily activities allowed us to develop new friendships with people we would otherwise not have known. We hope we can maintain these relationships for a long time and keep the memories of Journey 2010 alive.

Perhaps more important than the views of the adults, is the opinions of the children. On this trip, Tasha had a unique perspective ? the only teenager and the only non-adopted child. Here is what she had to say about the trip:

Approaching this trip I was kind of nervous, to be honest. I was scared of how different it was going to be, and in a way I guess I was right. Korea was very different than the small town I live in, but it wasn’t frightening. During the whole trip we had people there who helped us and answered all our questions, it was really comforting to have translators especially because of the language barrier that we all faced.

I think my favourite part of the trip was climbing Ulsan Bawi, probably because it was hiking, which is very North American so it was probably just very comforting to me. Another part of the trip that was very special was watching Jamie meet his foster parents. I think this was good for him to really understand where he came from because I think he had unanswered questions, and I hope that going to Korea gave him those answers.

Jamie’s opinion of the trip is, without question, the most important of all. He is, after all, our only reason for embarking on this Journey. As a 9 year old boy, he doesn’t like to take anything too seriously, but you can tell from his account of the trip that it was a very positive experience.

My favorite activity was climbing the mountains. I liked climbing Seongsan Ilchulbong better because it wasn’t as hard as Ulsan Bawi. The best thing was making friends with Paul. I made friends with Paul because he spoke good English and we liked the same things.

The memory I will remember the most was meeting my foster parents. Before I met them I was kind of scared but after I met them I felt better because they were nice and they remembered me.

I expected Korea to be way different than how it was. I was surprised that the buildings, cars, and electronics were the same as Canada. What wasn’t the same as Canada was everybody was Asian and it was hotter.

I thought some food was good and some was not as much ? too spicy. The language was very different than ours and it takes longer to say words.

I would really like to meet the people I met on Journey again and go to Korea when I am older.

That last line really sums it up. We hope to see you all again.

진흥문화사에 있는 친구들에게

Journey 2010이 끝난 뒤 몇 주간의 시간이 흘렀고 이제는 이번 행사에 대한 저희의 생각과 느낌을 나눌 때가 되었습니다. 이 에세이의 기대치를 더 잘 이해하기 위해 저희는 2008년과 2009년 참가자들이 제출한 에세이들을 읽어봤습니다. 그들은 입양인 행사에 대해 대체로 매우 긍정적으로 생각했고 박경진 회장님, 박형호 사장님, 모든 행사 관계자들, 자원봉사자들이 베풀어준 관용과 환대에 즐거워했습니다. 그들이 말한 모든 것은 저희들의 느낌과 경험과 비슷합니다. 한국은 굉장한 사람들이 있는 아름다운 나라입니다. 이러한 경험이 저희들에게는 선물입니다.

부모의 관점에서 말하면 저희들은 모든 프로그램과 활동을 즐거워했습니다. 몇몇 프로그램을 다른 것들보다 더 좋아하기도 했지만 모든 프로그램이 한국과 한국의 문화를 깊게 이해하는데 기여했다고 생각합니다. 모든 활동이 재미있었고 저희들은 전혀 지루해하지 않았습니다. 무엇보다 중요한 것은 여행과 매일의 활동을 통해 이러한 기회가 없었다면 알 수 없었던 사람들과 새롭게 친분을 형성할 수 있었던 것입니다. 저희는 이러한 관계와 Journey 2010의 생생한 기억이 오랫동안 지속되기를 바랍니다.

아마도 부모의 생각보다는 아이들의 의견이 보다 중요하다고 생각합니다. 이번 여행에 있어서 타샤(Anastasia)는 독특한 시각을 갖고 있는데 그녀는 참가자중 유일한 십대이고 비입양인 아이입니다. 이번 여행에 대한 그녀의 의견을 소개합니다.

속질하게 말씀드리면 이번 여행이 다가오면서 좀 신경이 쓰였습니다. 저는 한국이 얼마나 다를지 두려웠었고, 저의 예상은 빚나가지 않았습니다. 한국은 제가 살고 있는 작은 마을과는 많은 차이가 있었습니다. 여행하는 기간 내내 저희를 도와주고 저희의 모든 질문에 답해주는 사람들이 있었는데, 언어 장벽이 있었기 때문에 통역자들이 있었던 것은 저에게 큰 위안이 되었습니다.

이번 여행 중에 제가 제일 좋아 했던 부분은 울산 바위를 등반했던 것인데, 이유는 아마도 등산을 했기 때문인 것 같습니다. 등산은 전형적인 북미주 사람들의 모습을 보여주기 때문에 저를 편안하게 했던 것 같습니다. 여행 중에 저에게 매우 특별했던 또 다른 한 가지는 제이미(James)가 위탁모를 만나는 모습을 보는 것이었습니다. 저는 위탁모를 만났던 것이 제이미가 자신의 출신을 이해하는데 유익했을 것이라고 생각합니다. 왜냐하면 제이미는 이 물음에 대한 답을 알지 못했었기 때문입니다. 한국에 갔었던 것이 제이미에게 그러한 질문들에 대해 답을 주었으면 좋겠습니다.

이번 여행에 대한 제이미의 의견이 가장 중요할 것이라고 생각합니다. 결국 제이미는 저희가 이번 행사에 참여한 유일한 이유입니다. 모든 일을 진지하게 생각하지 않는 9살 소년이지만 제이미도 이번 일은 아주 좋은 경험이었다고 생각하고 있습니다.
제가 좋아했던 활동은 산을 오르는 것이었습니다. 저는 울산바위보다는 올라가는데 힘들지 않았던 성산일출봉을 등반했던 것이 좋아 습니다. 가장 좋았던 것은 Paul과 친구가 되었던 것입니다. 저는 Paul과 친구가 되었습니다. 왜냐하면 Paul은 좋은 영어를 구사했고 우리는 좋아하는 것이 같았기 때문입니다.

가장 기억에 남는 일을 저의 위탁모를 만난 것입니다. 그분들을 만나기 전에는 두려운 감이 있었으나 그분들을 만난 뒤에는 기분이 좋았습니다. 왜냐하면 위탁모는 좋은 분들이었고 저를 기억해 주었기 때문입니다.

저는 한국이 과거와는 다를 것으로 예상했습니다. 저는 건물들, 자동차들, 전기제품들이 캐나다와 같은 것을 보고 놀랐습니다. 캐나다와 다른 점은 모든 사람들이 아시아 사람들이었고 캐나다 보다 더웠다는 것입니다.

저는 몇몇 음식은 좋았으나 어떤 음식은 너무 매워서 그렇게 좋지는 않았습니다. 한국어는 영어과 매우 달랐으며 말을 하는데 더 많은 시간이 걸립니다.

저는 이번 행사에서 만났던 사람들을 정말로 다시 만나고 싶습니다. 그리고 제가 좀더 성장하고 나서 한국에 다시 가고 싶습니다.

마지막 문장이 저희의 마음을 잘 요약했다고 생각합니다. 저희들은 당신들 모두를 다시 만날 수 있기를 바랍니다.

We were privileged to participate in Journey 2010 Trip to Korea for Korean Overseas Adoptees 2010.6.21-7.3. We visited many places outside of Seoul which we had not seen before as parents and our children had the opportunity to visit the country of their birth. This, along with the companionship of the young adult adoptees, translators and the helpfulness of the home-stay families, made for a wonderfully memorable experience.

Seoul presents so many contrasts from Canadian cities: the architecture of the Gates and the palaces, the market places where the kids learned to bargain (a useful skill in garage sales here!), and the small stores everywhere. The kids were surprised by the live fish stores on the street and the fish vendors in the market. We kept trying to take pictures of the waterfall in the middle of the city that we saw on the way from our home-stay family to the starting point of the day. Having the waterway with greenery and walking paths is a bonus to life in the city. The kids loved the subway system, especially the independence of inserting their own tickets into the machine and the handholds in the ceiling of the trains. We loved the efficiency, convenience and price of travel in the city. We noticed the explosion of western type coffee shops and pastry shops from our visit nine years ago!

Travelling south introduced us to more of the beauty of South Korea. The hills and mountains are beautiful, reminiscent of British Columbia. Our daughter was proud to be the first one of the group to climb Mt. Seorak. It was an interesting experience to climb with the monks chanting in the background. Visiting the historic sites with the variety of Buddhas will be topics for discussion with the children in the weeks, months and years to come. Jeju island with its volcanic beaches was a highlight for the children. The fish was delicious.

We enjoyed new food experiences. Bulgogi is a favourite but also Chinese fried pork. I am continually amazed about the variety of kimchi: the colours and textures often remind me of works of art as they are presented in the small dishes. Our home-stay family made special efforts to provide us with traditional foods for breakfast and dinners. They gave us insights into Korean family life.

And the ice cream.......

The cultural activities arranged for us were a reinforcement of the direction our Ottawa Korean culture classes have taken. The bulgogi we cooked as a family was delicious. Our son was very proud of being picked the “the best student of Samulnori.” The rice paper treasure boxes now hold a variety of treasures we picked up in the Seoul markets. The formal tea ceremony and bowing ceremony gave us insights into the importance and meaning in precise movements. It was certainly worth visiting both of the folk villages - both had their high points. The Korean Folk Village had great performances. The children enjoyed the traditional games stop at Jejustonepark.

Everyone involved with Journey 2010 was most helpful and courteous. The interpreters were great! Song was amazing with the kids. Jenny went out of her way to help. Calvin had interesting insights into Canada/Korean ways of life. Jason was full of good humour. Andy's commentary along the way was priceless. The adult adoptees were very good with the children and will also be remembered and, possibly called upon, in the years to come.

Thank you to the JinHeung MoonHwa Company, Chairman Park and Andy Park for allowing us to participate in Journey 2010.

저희는 2010년 6월 21일부터 7월 3일까지 진행되었던 Journey 2010에 참여하게 된 것을 영광으로 생각합니다. 저희는 부모로서 한 번도 방문하지 않았던 서울 외각의 여러 곳을 방문할 수 있었습니다. 그리고 저희 아이들은 그들의 모국을 방문할 수 있는 기회를 가졌습니다. 행사에 참여했던 다른 입양인들과 통역자들 그리고 홈스테이 가정들의 도움으로 저희는 놀랍도록 기억될만한 경험을 하게 되었습니다.

서울은 캐나다의 도시와 비교할 때 여러 가지 대조를 보였습니다. 문이나 궁과 같은 건축물, 아이들이 흥정하는 것을 배웠던 시장, 곳곳에 있는 작은 상점들에서 그러한 차이를 볼 수 있었습니다. 아이들은 길거리에 있는 상점에 살아있는 물고기가 있는 것을 보고 놀랐습니다. 홈스테이 가정에서 진흥문화사로 가는 길에 보았던 서울 중앙에 있는 분수를 보고 저희는 계속해서 사진을 찍었습니다. 화초가 있는 수로와 산책로를 거니는 것은 도시 생활의 뜻밖의 즐거움이었습니다. 아이들은 지하철을 좋아했는데 특히 자기 티켓을 개찰구에 넣는 것과 지하철 천청에 매달려 있는 손잡이는 잡는 것에 흥미 있어 했습니다. 저희는 도시 여행의 효율성, 편리함, 가격에 만족했습니다. 저희는 9년 전에 한국을 방을 했을 때 보다 서구적인 카페와 빵집이 급증했다는 것을 알게 되었습니다.

한국의 남쪽을 여행하는 것은 통해 저희는 한국의 아름다움을 보다 많이 볼 수 있었습니다. 언덕과 산들은 아름다워서 브리티시콜롬비아 주를 연상하게 했습니다. 딸 사라는 일행에서 첫 번째로 설악산을 등반한 것에 자랑스러워했습니다. 뒤에서 들려오는 승려들의 염불 소리를 들으면서 산에 오르는 것은 흥미 있는 경험이었습니다. 다양한 불상이 있는 유적을 방문했던 경험은 일주일이 지나고, 한 달이 지나고, 일년이 지나도 아이들과 함께 이야기할 주제가 될 것입니다. 화산에 의해 만들어진 해변이 있는 제주도는 아이들에게 가장 기억되는 장소였습니다. 생선도 맛있었습니다.

저희는 새로운 음식을 먹는 것이 즐거웠습니다. 불고기 뿐 아니라 탕수육도 좋아하는 음식입니다. 저는 다양한 김치에 계속 놀랐습니다. 특히 작은 접시에 담겨진 김치의 색깔과 질감은 종종 예술품은 연상하게 합니다. 홈스테이 가정은 저희에게 아침과 저녁식사에 한국의 전통음식을 제공하려고 특별한 노력을 했습니다. 그분들은 한국 가정의 삶에 대해 알게 해주었습니다.

저희를 위해 준비한 문화 프로그램들은 캐나다에서 들은 한국 문화 수업의 내용을 강화시켜주었습니다. 저희 가족이 요리한 불고기는 맛있었습니다. 아들 크리스토퍼는 사물놀이 수업에서 “가장 훌륭한 학생”으로 선발된 것을 매우 자랑스러워했습니다. 한지 공예에서 만든 보석 상자에는 서울의 시장에서 사온 기념품을 넣어 두었습니다. 다도와 절하는 법을 배울 때에는 정확한 동작에 큰 의미가 있다는 것을 알 수 있었습니다. 한국민속촌과 제주돌공원을 방문한 것은 확실히 가치 있었습니다. 한국민속촌과 제주돌공원은 각각 장점을 가지고 있습니다. 한국민속촌에는 대단한 공연들이 있었습니다. 아이들은 제주돌공원에서 전통 놀이를 즐겼습니다.

Journey 2010의 모든 관계자들은 저희에게 많은 도움을 주었고 정중하게 대해주었습니다. 통역자들은 대단했습니다. Song은 놀라울 정도로 아이들과 잘 지냈습니다. Jenny는 참가자들을 도와주기 위해 비상한 노력을 했습니다. Calvin은 캐나다와 한국의 삶의 방식에 대한 흥미 있는 통찰을 갖고 있었습니다. Jason은 좋은 유머로 가득차있었습니다. 이동 중에 행한 Andy의 설명은 너무나 값진 것이었습니다. 성인 입양인들은 아이들과 매우 잘 지냈습니다. 저희는 그들을 잊지 못할 것이며 그들과 앞으로 연락할 것 같습니다.
